RMB join SDR

On December 1, Beijing time at 1 am, IMF officially announced that RMB on October 1, 2016 to join the SDR. The IMF managing director said at the news conference  "the RMB into the SDR will be an important milestone in China's economic integration into the global financial system, which is for the Chinese government in the past few years in the monetary and financial system reform of the progress of recognition."

SDR（Special Drawing Right，SDR）is also called Paper Gold. Member States of IMF in the event of balance of payments deficit, which is available to other Member States designated by the IMF in exchange for foreign currency to pay the balance of payments deficits or repay the loan the IMF. It also works with the gold, serve as a freely convertible currency as international reserves. Because it is a supplement IMF drawing rights existing outside the ordinary, so called special drawing rights.
